Two new moms & a cancer diagnosis

A digital story (video) from the Cancer’s Margins project exploring parenthood and a breast cancer diagnosis.

Two women smile at the camera with their child between them. They are by the sea.

This video project used a community-and-arts based approach to exploring sexual and gender diversity, and experiences of cancer health, support and care. The researchers worked with the participants to develop a series of digital stories that looked at how 2SLGBTQIA+ people locate and share knowledge after they’ve been diagnosed and treated for breast or gynecologic cancer.

In Centipede two new moms reflect on how they dealt with the “curveball” of a breast cancer diagnosis while parenting a young child.
