Now what?
Trans activist & zine creator Roman co-founded the Transgender Cancer Patient Project.
Roman Ruddick was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a few weeks before graduating high school. Roman is trans and experienced distressingly gendered cancer treatment. Realizing that there are very few cancer resources and support groups created by and for patients themselves, and even less created with trans people in mind, a few years later they co-founded the Transgender Cancer Patient Project. This is a community led initiative for and by trans patients. Roman and co-founder Charlie Manzano run online support groups, attend events, and create zines for trans people affected by cancer.
This is a section from one of Roman’s zines, called “Now What?”. Read the more at the Transgender Cancer Patient Project or download the full issue here.
