The new Queering Cancer website
We’ve updated our website to reflect the evolution of our organization.
It’s been nearly five years since the launch of Queering Cancer and in that time, we’ve evolved! We want our website to reflect this growth and are excited to share some changes with you.
We’ve wanted to make our community stories more searchable so we’ve added tags and categories to our collection of stories so whether you’re trans and looking for prostate cancer stories, or you’re AYA and looking for relatable caregiver content, we’ve got you.
We know how vital education is, so we’ve made it easier to request tailored education on inclusive and affirming care. If you’re looking for experts to teach a healthcare team about integrating inclusive care, or want support reviewing your patient education materials, processes, and policies, get in touch.
We are privileged to be involved in some amazing projects and we wanted a home for them so we can share what we’re up to. Our Projects pages are a place to stay informed and get involved!
We’ve had a lot of feedback about the lack of tailored and affirming support for our community navigating cancer so we are excited to have a place to connect you to dedicated support on our new site.
Our website should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology, so we’ve also implemented design and content accessibility best practices including image alt text, clear and consistent page structure, colour contrast, and readable font.
We’d like to shout out and thank Kellen McGerrigle and Katy Carlisle for using their amazing skills and expertise to bring our new site to life.
Our website refresh is more than a makeover, it’s us stepping up. Because inclusive cancer care is non-negotiable. Being seen, heard, and affirmed is non-negotiable. Being treated with dignity and respect is non-negotiable. We’re here, we’re queer, and we’re Queering Cancer.
