Queering Cancer is one year old!

It’s hard to believe that it has already been a year since we first launched this website, and we are excited to be celebrating this milestone. Over the past year, we have been truly happy with and humbled by the response from patients, healthcare providers, and the other amazing organizations out there who are working toward similar goals. In developing this website, we initially sought to build a community; instead, we found one ❤︎

During Queering Cancer’s first year, we have been watching, listening, and learning in order to gain a full understanding of how the website is being used. As a result of these observations, you will notice that our website looks a little bit different than it did last October. You will still see our searchable Information full of resources for patients, loved ones, and healthcare providers, as well as our page of true Stories from folks with lived experience. We noticed our Community forums were not being used, so those have been removed. Lastly, after many requests for such information, we have created Education, developed with cancer care providers in mind. Take some time to explore the new and improved version of Queering Cancer – we hope you will like what you see.

We want to thank everyone who has shared stories or resources with us, or reached out looking for resources aimed at healthcare providers. We hope that you continue to contact us by email or on social media and we will continue to welcome any additional stories or information contributions, so that we can continue improving Queering Cancer over the next year and beyond…

Finally, what birthday celebration would be complete without presents?! Not for us – for you!

We are hosting a giveaway on our Instagram page. Head over there to learn more and to enter to win! PLUS! We have created a Queering Cancer poster – designed with clinical spaces in mind. We hope it can help make waiting rooms feel more welcoming to the queer community and signpost to our resources. You can find it here!

Before you go, there’s one thing you could do for us; tell someone about our website by sharing our social media posts.

You never know who it could help!
