Changes in sexual roles and quality of life for gay men after prostate cancer: Challenges for sexual health providers

Peer-reviewed journal article. Compared to previously published data of men with prostate cancer, gay men with prostate cancer reported worse functioning and bother related to urinary, bowel, and hormonal symptoms. They also reported worse mental health functioning, more fear of cancer recurrence, and less satisfaction with the cancer care they received. On the other hand, gay men with prostate cancer reported better sexual functioning compared to previously published norms.
