Say hello to the TGCC project’s new look!

Our three-year community-led TRANSforming Gyne Cancer Care (TGCC) project aims to make gynecological cancer care more inclusive and supportive for trans and gender diverse (TGD) folks in Canada. We are proud to share the project logo and story behind its evolution!

The project’s lived experience group members - Rae, Tristan, Laura and James - worked with the wonderful Mike Hooves to come up with this impactful and engaging design! Mike is a non-binary illustrator, animator, designer, and filmmaker from Treaty 7 (Calgary) Alberta. You can find out more about Mike and their work here.

Mike described the inspiration behind their artwork:

The graphic depicts open hands, symbolizing support and collaboration. The fluid shapes within the hands use the colours of the Transgender and Non-binary pride flags to anchor its visual identity to its focus on these communities. TRANSFORMING is the largest text element, emphasizing commitment to advocacy and change. As a fellow trans cancer patient I feel it’s important to see us in the movement that advocates for our healthcare needs.
— Mike Hooves

Our deep thanks go to Mike for their talent, patience, and pure heart they put into this work. We love that this logo reflects the community this project is with, for, and about.

Perhaps you’ve spotted the striking new logo out in the wild at a presentation, on a poster, or on the socials. What do you think? Let us know!
