Martin Heaney is a gay, catholic performing arts teacher from South East London. He was diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) in November 2021. He has undergone brain surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Martin hosts the “Chatty guy talks cancer care and hope” podcast where he explores what it is like to live with brain cancer.
In the first episode, Learning to Live with Cancer, Catholicism and a Gay Dog, Martin celebrates some of the inspirational people he has met and his positive experience of the NHS. He also explores ways of telling friends and family about having a life-limiting illness.
